Microcomputer Controller for Split Pressurized Solar Water Heater

[Features] The GBS-20 split-type solar water heater fully automatic measurement and control instrument is a solar-specific supporting device developed with new single-chip computer technology. It features: color LED display, all-Chinese menu prompt setting, rich functions, convenient operation, morning/noon/evening all-day timing modes, leakage protection, pipeline circulation antifreeze and other functions.

[Main Technical Indicators] 1. Power supply: 220VAC; power consumption: <5W; 2. Temperature measurement accuracy: ±2℃; 3. Temperature measurement range: 0-99℃; 4. Temperature control accuracy: ±5℃; 5. Control ports: differential temperature pump, electric heating or heat tracing tape total power less than 3kW; 6. Leakage protection: leakage current exceeding 30mA

[Main Functions] 1. Beijing time: real-time display of Beijing time. 2. Collector, water tank and indoor temperature indication: the actual temperatures of the three measurement points can be viewed. 3. Circulation heating: when the control system detects that the temperature inside the collector is higher than the water tank by the high differential temperature set value (factory default 10 degrees), the solar circulation pump is started, drawing water from the tank to circulate through the solar collector for further heating. When the collector temperature minus the tank temperature is less than the low differential temperature set value (factory default 7 degrees), the solar differential temperature circulation pump is switched off, stopping differential temperature circulation heating. 4. Electric heating: when the tank temperature is lower than the set tank temperature (factory default 50 degrees), the heater can be switched on to heat the water in the tank; heating stops when 50 degrees is reached and resumes below 45 degrees. If the inlet valve is closed for a long time, open the outlet valve before starting electric heating to expel air from the tank, and start heating only when water flows out, to avoid dry burning. 5. Collector pipeline antifreeze and insulation: when the collector temperature probe detects that the collector temperature is lower than the set heat tracing tape activation temperature (factory default 3 degrees), the heat tracing tape output is switched on until the detected collector temperature is higher than the heat tracing tape deactivation temperature (factory default 5 degrees), when the heat tracing tape output is switched off. In the antifreeze state, the circulation pump is also switched on when the heat tracing tape is on. 6. All-day mode: three timed electric heatings in the morning, noon and evening can be set separately within 24 hours as needed; when a timed start time is set to --:--, the timing function is not enabled (factory setting: timing function not enabled). If the set heating temperature has been reached via solar circulation heating, electric heating is not started, saving energy. It is recommended that the heating temperature not exceed 60℃, to avoid scalding and save energy. 7. Power-failure clock data retention: during a power outage, the controller keeps all user preset parameters, continues Beijing time keeping for 48 hours after power failure, and resumes operation in the previously set working mode and functions when power is restored, avoiding the need to reset the time and various parameters.

[Usage] 1. On power-up, the buzzer "beeps" and all LEDs display during self-test. When self-test ends, the tank temperature T2 and Beijing time are displayed. 2. Momentarily press the "SET" key to cyclically select the displayed temperature value among T2-T3-T1. T1 is the collector detection temperature, T2 the tank temperature, T3 the ambient temperature. 3. Long-press the "SET" key to enter the adjustment items for Beijing time, timed heating, heating temperature, etc., in menu order: Beijing time hour setting → Beijing time minute setting → electric heating temperature setting → timed heating T1 start time → timed heating T2 start time → timed heating T3 start time (only the hour is set for timed start times) → differential temperature circulation pump activation temperature → differential temperature circulation pump deactivation temperature → pipeline insulation activation temperature → pipeline insulation deactivation temperature. During setting, the corresponding prompt symbol lights up and the set parameter flashes; press the "+" or "-" key to change the set value and the "SET" key to confirm. If no key is pressed for more than 10 seconds, the set data is automatically saved and the display returns to the post-self-test screen. 4. Momentarily press the "Heating +" key to force-start the electric heating output; heating stops automatically when the set temperature is reached. While electric heating is on, momentarily press this key again to force-switch off the electric heating output; long-press this key to enable constant-temperature electric heating, and long-press again to disable it. With constant temperature enabled, the tank temperature is always heated to the set temperature point. 5. Momentarily press the "Circulation -" key to switch on the circulation pump; if there are no circulation conditions, it switches off after 30 seconds. While the circulation pump is on, momentarily press this key to switch it off; long-press this key to enable the antifreeze function, and long-press again to disable it.

[Precautions] 1. The tank must not be without water for long periods, to avoid over-high temperatures of the solar collector from empty sun exposure and dry running of the circulation pump; electric heating must not be switched on at the same time. 2. Install reliable lightning protection measures and guard against lightning strikes. During thunderstorms, disconnect the power promptly, stop using the solar system, and pay attention to personal safety. 3. The controller has a leakage protection reminder function; when leakage occurs, a flashing Ld and audible alarm are displayed, and all outputs are switched off. Normal operation is possible only after the leakage fault is cleared and power is reapplied. 4. Flashing E1, E2 and E3 on the display respectively indicate faults of the collector temperature sensor, water tank temperature sensor and ambient temperature sensor, i.e., sensor short circuit, open circuit, or measured temperature values exceeding the 0-99 degree range.

[Controller Installation and Wiring Diagram] 1. Install the mounting plate in a place not directly exposed to water that is convenient for observation and use, fix it firmly with screws, and hang the controller on it. 2. Open the junction box cover at the bottom of the controller, connect sensor 1 (collector T1), sensor 2 (water tank T2) and sensor 3 (indoor T3) wires to the corresponding positions and tighten the screws; then connect the circulation pump, heat tracing tape and electric heater connection wires to the corresponding terminals with reference to the wiring diagram. They must not be connected incorrectly, as this will cause faults such as electrical burnout; select the wire diameter according to the actual power. 3. Connection wires can exit from the lower right corner; replace the junction box cover and, after all installation is complete and verified, power up. 4. Wiring diagram
